Dealing with the Changes
To think that last week everything ran smoothly and in order. Then the school break arrived with an
addition of a grandson, assessments for my Mother’s physical condition and
trying to plan a time away.
I am tired. In fact I am so tired
that I don’t think that I will be able to getaway. A holiday away will be one of sleeping the
entire time. Why should we pay money to
do that?
I write this to show that it doesn’t take much to upset the balance of
life – in our family. What we want to
stay the same never does. It changes when we least expect it. That is unnerving.
But then I heard stories of the other folks this week that have had far
bigger changes. Health issues, family crisis and life struggles of all kinds
have changed everything for them. And there is no help.
Next week things will be back to normal for us. For the others it will
not be. Life has changed forever because of what has happened.
Someone reminded me that we need to be thankful for what we have and what
is happening now. This week reminds me
again of the frailness of life.
This day is important. Tomorrow is a today wrapped in surprise.
