The USA Presidential Debate, The Canadian Bachelor and a detective show
I am a Good Canadian that is almost American.  There how does that sound?  How could I say that – well I faithfully listened to The Debate last night between President Obama and Governor Romney… at least I tried to listen to it… for a little while anyway…

Maybe that is why I am almost American.

For what I heard they were actually almost complimenting each other? They were saying that I will do the same as my opponent here.  My policies are also the same as he just said his was.

Then they were nice to each other???? Duh?  None of the political adds on TV that I have seen are nice… but then that is the handlers for each person running, ripping and tearing each other to bits.

The part of the Debate that I saw (maybe half of it) was nice… congenial… careful… and two men thinking carefully what they would present.  BUT they were NOT CANADIAN… and in Canada we do it differently – we rip and tear and gnash and spit when the politicians tell the country that the other opponent is a clod and buffoon and an idiot.  We do it right in Canada.

Yet – a few months ago when Mitt Romney was struggling to fight for his present position the gnashing of teeth was there against his own party members.

I am confused. Who was better?  Who won?

If you like Mr. Romney I guess you think he won. If you like Mr. Obama I guess you will choose him.

I watched only half of it and then switched channels. I found the Canadian Bachelor program good for a couple of minutes… then found one detective program where the crime was solved in one hour – far more interesting.

The Canadian Bachelor program had one lonely guy standing and waiting as each big fancy car pulled up to let a gorgeous gal get out, walk up to him and give him a hug, a nuzzle, a few well planned giggles and a hand shake… with the intent that he is possibly meeting his wife-to-be.

The detective show had a body hanging from a tree, dead for maybe two weeks, but then it was only 8 days… making it a possible suicide… but when they thought they would have to get down the dead body from the tree… as the crows were pecking away at the ugly mess hanging there… the head came loose and fell first then the body came next…

Yep the detective show had me… it was way more exciting than a hunk trying to look super interested in a slurry of babes wiggling up to him.

And it was way more interesting than a non-debate between two nice guys that are about to become so powerful that they could start wars with any country in the world… strike at assumed terrorists and tear down dictators at a whim.  And as they talked to each other and about each other... they could be my neighbours next door… not wickedly, powerful Presidents of the Most Powerful Country in the World!

Good luck to my American Relatives and Neighbors to our south.

The Globe and Mail newspaper offered an article (see link below) where they stated that Obama was not on his game.  Oh boy.

What they need is a Prime Minister Trudeau – a P.E.T. – that is Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

But at the same time this American Circus is going on our former Prime Minister Trudeau’s son, Justin, is now in the running for the leadership of the almost defunct Liberal Party of Canada.

Wow!  What a contrast.  “Trudeau 2” stepping forward to replace the Conservative Party of Canada… the Big Blue Machine.

I think I will watch the detective program again.
