Today’s Blog Post
When I met Ukiran – it was all because of Facebook

Opportunity Knocks at unusual times. It happened this morning as Ukiran contacted me for help. It happened through Facebook.

Now I have friends about the same age as I am and they flat out state that there’s no way they will ever get involved with the Facebook Crowd. Many of these dudes are ministers. Many others are strong Faith People – and their objections revolve around the faith arena. “Good Whatevers” would not waste their time doing stuff like that!

In fact “Good Whatevers” should be in church each Sunday doing whatever “Whatevers” do. Which in my observance is – sitting and doing whatever, when Whoever tells them they should do whatever… but if they don’t do whatever their “Good Whatevers” is challenged… or shows to be not so good a Whatever! Got that?

My wife had declared this weekend to be part of our Holiday from Everything. And that included Whateverism.

My day started with an early morning call from someone that needed some serious help with a family Crisis. This family doesn’t have the connection or advice that is needed – so they called… apologetically because they knew it was Sunday, the day that Whatevers head out to the Temple of Whatevers to celebrate their Whateverism.

I was glad that I was there. With a little time on the telephone and some listening a resolve started to form.

If I would have been headed out the door to the Temple of Whatevers, I would have missed this call… and opportunity to help some friends.

Then came the Facebook connection with Ukiran. Ukiran is a one half the earth away from my world. Our 6 Billion people on Earth and almost being exactly the other side of the world away… he found me on Facebook.

He is involved as a Wood Carver and or in the Wood Carving Business. Taking a flying leap he has placed his carvings on a Blog that reaches out to a world that might like to buy what they are selling.

As many reading this Blog know… I am kind of addicted to carving wood. I have a Web Site as some of you have already seen (if you caught the Links at the top of the page) where my company, “Misty Hollow Carving” is featured.

Well a few FB contacts and clicks later Ukiran became my friend. He needs help.

He has represented the company, or the one that he works for, and they didn’t believe that putting traditional wood carvings from their company on the Internet would help anyone know who they are. They didn’t believe that the time Ukiran spends on the computer is of any value at all. He was so thankful for the contact. He stated that his company wanted to kill him for trying to use the Blog idea. Now one thought it would work.

And as far as Facebook is concerned, their reaction is even worse that the “Good Whatevers” back in Canada.

His group or people likely belong to “Another Whatever Group” that is strongly in opposition to our “Good Whatevers” in the rest of the World.

In fact “Good Whatevers” have been trying to kill off “Another Whatever Group” for hundreds of years… and the converse has been true also. They both do it in the name of their “Whatever God”… and their God simple says “Whatever!” and gets turned off like I do.

I have lived in a country not far from Ukiran. In fact I have been to Ukiran’s country and thoroughly loved it there. His country is amazing!

Now could it be that the God of Whatever arranged for me to not go to the Temple of Whatevers so that I could help my friends, and also meet Ukiran?

I think that many times we have falling into nothingness of Whatever in hopes of finding something – when there is nothing there for us.

It seems as I read of the roots of the Whatevers, their leader did Whatever he felt to do, whenever he felt it was necessary. It seems that we have lost a compulsion to do Whatever – Whatevers should be doing. We have to wait for a Whoever to tell us whatever… before we can ignore it and move quietly away.

As I reflect on this Whatevers special day… I wonder about Whatevers.

I feel better being a “not so good whatevers” (please note the small “w”). It is good to be available and ready to show Ukiran a little love when he most needs it. It was good to be there for my friends.

If you are struggling today with Whatever thoughts come your way… get out of your Whatevers-ville and find some one to help.

There's a facebook movie coming out in the fall. It seems that the inventor created it because of being marginalized by a number of university groups.

As human beings we have this tendency to form into packs (Genesis 11 is the recorded time this happened) and then devour others that don't join our pack.

I enjoy facebook a heck of a lot because it's a place (medium) where real questions can be asked, concerns raised and everyone is free to say whatever they want. Imagine that, no censorship from the whatever group!
