The Opportunity to
attend the OHS Conference 2013 at the Canoe Museum
This past Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to join with whole
bunch of ladies and one man as I attended the OHS annual conference (Ontario
Hand-weavers Spinners – I think that is the correct name) held at the year at
the Canadian Canoe Museum.
What an interesting bunch! They
came from all the different local Guilds in many different parts of
Ontario. I was an outsider but warmly
welcomed as I displayed my Tatting – that is Lace making.
I have to be careful to make sure that I explain that it is Lace Making –
not Tattooing! Tattooing would fit into
this particular group of folk.
My small booth was demonstrating the Past, Present and Future of Lace
Making with Tatting.
I have developed new methods of using and displaying Tatting – hopefully
to engage the next generation.
It was a delight to meet and speak with so many different ladies with so
many different interests.
The photos seen here show the variety that I have presented. My Tea Pots were a hit along with the Button
Angels.
Thank you to Dee Jones, one of the local organizers and my contact
person, for inviting me to meet with these amazing and talented people from
across our Province. You ladies Rock!
