Today’s Blog Post
Coming Out of the Woods

As I have followed the events unfolding for the Tiger Woods Family in Florida and all over the USA I am amazed with what has taken place. Utterly amazed to say the least.

Since it was reported that a Black Cadillac crashed outside his home one early morning… a window was broken on the car… with his wife trying to help him get out of the car – which apparently he was trapped inside…. The story has grown more strange.

Then a few days later another TV shot was offered the ogling TV public as an ambulance raced to the Hospital from his house. Apparently it was Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law this time… she was sick. But TV Cameras were waiting for more film footage to tantalize the public with…just outside his home again.

Stop for a minute and think – someone was waiting for something bad or controversial to happen. They were like vultures that were hanging on every word or possible miss deed.

They are waiting for the man and his family to fall. It is a must.

On the other side the huge companies that have contributed Millions of Dollars to his coffers each year – are now backing off. Apparently there is concern about a possible backlash with the “family value/image” that Mr. Woods has had.

Now that he is messing around – or was – the good companies have backed away from this hot potato.

Has any one stopped to think how many golfers have had affairs or are experiencing difficult times in their marriages?

Has anyone thought that maybe with as many people that have problems and play Golf… Tiger might now be identified with more people and it will become more lucrative for the Tiger Woods name than ever before.

What is the problem? And… I know asking that question will likely disturb some of my fine ‘family value’ friends that wish to make their points. Go for it!

The problem is our desire to see some one become a hero. WE MUST HAVE SOME ONE BE LOOKED UP TO – or we are not complete. Our society as a whole created the Tiger Brand… and when someone doesn’t live up to our expectations we are crushed. It as if we have done this to ourselves. WOW – and we have.

Why do people need a hero like this? And when we make him a hero he becomes huge in our minds. Infallible!

Tiger Woods is just like every other man alive… and so is his family…except maybe for the money factor which now is over One Billion recorded earnings in his life time.

People like to think that maybe just maybe they can live out their dreams through some one like him… be a good golfer… me a dad … be a husband… etc.

I was thinking on this yesterday and today as the companies started coming forward to announce that they were pulling back their support.

I wondered how many of the companies had men and women getting divorces now, have had divorces or were possibly considering it?

Should that fact alone make us then back off the possible involvement with their product? Like, “I will never shave with Gillette again if I find out one of their executives or even an employee has had an affair!”

That is so stupid.

Most of the public are the biggest bunch of hypocrites! Can you imagine? They can do it – but Tiger can’t – because they made him their hero. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

I would appeal to the press and the world to simply leave them alone. They have enough to deal with now. They will live through their own hell… just like our people do in daily living.

Today I have prayed for Tiger Woods and his family. May God be there to help them work it through.

And maybe he will put away his clubs and live comfortably forever… and not let you ever see him play again. Won’t the public be jilted if that takes place.

How long will it take to spend One Billion Plus Dollars? A Lifetime?

But we need him… and stories about him.

Please come out of the Woods?!?! Leave them alone.
