Today’s Blog Post

Too Funny – just Too Funny! Talk about Weird…

So who is Isobel Varley? She is the world’s most Tattoed Senior Lady – who spent $40,000 in ‘wearable art’.  Yep - this is Isobel above
But then there is Erik Sprague of Austin, Texas – the Lizardman(above) – who is no seeking plastic surgery to install a tail – completing the whole person. You gotta wonder what kind of Lizard will be needed to give up its tail for Erik. Animal rights might have a say in this procedure.

BTW that is a Giant Cork Screw that is in his nose and the end is showing up on his tongue… no wonder his eye balls are turned upward.

Take a look at the Traumatic Stress Discipline Suspension Club performs at The Ripley's Believe It Or Not! celebration on May 1, 2008 in San Antonio, TX.
Yep – they are hanging from hooks that have pierced their bodies and then they swing in circles.

But then there is Elaine Davidson, World's Most Pierced Woman. When Davidson entered the Guinness record, in 2000, she had a mere 462 pieces of hardware on her body, 192 just on her face.
I know one thing for sure that Elaine will not be having an MRI too soon. With its strong magnetic field it would pull out each metal piece – ZIP! But can you imagine what would happen when she really needs one.. it would take hours to take off over 400 rings and things!!!

Now this is not what you expected today…. I know!

But yesterday the Ground Hogs all over our area of North America saw their shadows – so did I. And apparently there will be another six weeks of winter.

Oh boy. That means we have passed about 75% of our winter weather and will “suffer” the next few weeks more.

Back to weird people…
I truly do not understand why people do this stuff. They seem to crave attention – or maybe it is to fit in with their many other weird friends.

It seems to me that standing on the corner with out a shirt on at Minus 25 C in Winnipeg, Manitoba – makes more sense. You can turn blue in about two minutes. To add the metal thrill simply go over and put your tongue on a metal pole… and stay there. The added thrill there is you fall back from the pole turning blue, and frozen stiff… with your red tongue stretching longer and longer.

That is not weird… that is Canada.

Now remember… it is Feb 3, 2010. It is still cold outside in Ontario. It is Canada!

In another part of Canada – the Vancouver area… it is warm and getting warmer by the week. And weird people a few years ago believed the Vancouver Crew that convinced everyone on an Olympic Committee that THEY WOULD HAVE SNOW for the Winter Olympics.
In the rest of Canada we all know that you can’t snow board on bails of hay… which they are now trucking up a mountain… Now that is WEIRD!

I needed this today as I drink my coffee and smile at the weird world around me.

The other day in a Tim Horton’s Coffee Shop locally the usual Old Guys Drinking Coffee Crowd (OGDCC) had assembled.

A well tattooed and excessively ringed youth stepped into the door and walked to the counter. The OGDCC went silent and heads turned. It was the quietest that the coffee shop has ever been!

You could almost tell what they were thinking…. “I hope my granddaughter doesn’t bring that home for Christmas!”
