The Terri-Lynn and Jason Story

The wheel chair moved slowly to the music. In the chair were two people. Jason was moving the chair by using his right hand on the wheel. His left arm was holding his new bride who was sitting on his lap. This was their wedding dance.

Jason is now blind and uses a wheel chair for all his major movements from place to place. The wheel chair helps reduce the problem with his Blood Pressure dropping drastically as he moves from laying down to sitting up to standing… at which time he can pass out very easily as the BP drops to about 50% or less in a matter of moments.

As a fairly severe diabetic the BP problem is a side effect… along with the need for kidney dialysis three times a week.

Jason is just about 30 years old now. And each of these years has been a chore as of late.

Terri-Lynn came into Jason’s life a little over a year ago and has loved him dearly. She was with him all the time.

When Jason first called me to tell me more about this amazing Terri-Lynn she had been going with him regularly to his dialysis at the Hospital. By just sitting with him and talking the friendship grew more and more.

I was leery of the folk that attached themselves to Jason. Over the years there have been some other gals that have fit into Jason’s life – or I should say tried to squeeze into his life… and take control. Some of these gals wanted Jason to move in with them – and they would take care of him… and his money.

It was very evident in many cases that they were gold diggers – seeing Jason as a guaranteed income for themselves. Jason would move in and they would start looking after his shopping, care and whatever as he turned his money over to them.

Jason couldn’t see anything. He couldn’t see dirt in the place… the danger… or that there was another man(or men) in the potential care giver’s life. It was a pure and simple rip off.

That didn’t happen only once either!

So when a gal by the name of Terri-Lynn came along… I was a little suspicious to say the least.

Terri-Lynn is amazing. She wants nothing more than to look after Jason full time. Jason is on a full disability pension as is Terri-Lynn. They need nothing from the other – except the love that they give each other.

I performed the marriage ceremony for them yesterday… and it was very good.

Terri-Lynn broke down and cried as she said her words for Jason. Jason was deeply moved as he said his words to Terri-Lynn. I cannot remember any wedding ceremony that was as touching as this one was.

In other weddings and the years afterwards I expect that the couple will be buying a house and having a family… setting up a tremendous life together.

Jason and Terri-Lynn will have some good years together… but if all goes as it may go… there will not be a lot of years left together. The natural breakdown of a tired body could be what they face.

In the past we have almost lost Jason a number of times. The physical problems are so many that without close monitoring and care he will come close to death often.

Terri-Lynn is a God Send for this young fellow… and she is watching everything very well.

I can say today as I reflect back on yesterday afternoon… I have seen real love.

I bless Terri-Lynn and Jason in their new life together… for as long as they both shall live and love.
