Today’s Blog Post

“in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish for the rest of our lives…”

Just a little over 6 months ago I stood at the front of a beautifully decorated hall, under a white wooden structure, with Glenn and Valerie. The place was in Montreal.

The date was May 29, 2010.

Some of the words that we read and spoken are posted her for you to read…

“Glenn will you give yourself to Valerie to be her husband: to love her, comfort her, honour and protect her; and forsaking all others, to be faithful to her so long as you both shall live?”

“I will…” Glenn responded.

“Valerie will you give yourself to Glenn to be his wife: to love him, comfort him, honour and protect him; and forsaking all others, to be faithful to him so long as you both shall live?”

“I will… “ Valerie responded.

At that point both were beaming as they looked into each other’s eyes.

As the wedding ceremony progressed I asked each one to repeat after me the following words…
“I, Glenn, take you Valerie to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward:
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish for the rest of our lives,
according to God’s holy ordinance. This is my solemn vow.”

“I, Valerie, take you Glenn to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward:
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish for the rest of our lives
according to God’s holy ordinance. This is my solemn vow.”

Last evening Glenn passed away from the Cancer that had ravished his body these past months.

Val remained by his side until the end. Val is an amazing lady. We love her.

Today I can say no more than that. I have a big lump in my throat…

God bless you Val… we are with you.
