12 Meaning-centered Ways to Boost Happiness

Some good things come my way from time to time.. in between some of the funny stuff and silly stuff.

Today my friend Paul sent this to me by way of his computer at Tyndale University. So I believe it is good stuff… from a University Professor… it has to be!

In fact as I read it over and have pondered it a few times… it makes perfect sense. It is really my own 12 Step Program to maintaining my own happiness. A few weeks from now I will be speaking to a group of Seniors that need a boost in happiness. I wonder if they have considered the list.

Yesterday I met a number of people at the Mall that needed happiness – big time. Some are very unhappy… others are struggling to find meaning… some are frightened of what is next. Many are unhappy generally. For my part I was there just to boost a few people’s happiness… by sharing what I do and who I am. It was a good day.

Here is Paul’s list….

12 meaning-centered ways to boost happiness:
1) Count your blessings,
2) Give thanks,
3) Do good deeds,
4) Do what you love,
5) Keep in touch with God's creation,
6) Spend time with family & friends,
7) Serve the common good,
8) Serve a higher purpose,
9) Worship God,
10) Achieve worth goals,
11) Accept yourself unconditionally
12) Keep yourself fit.

Have a great day. I gotta run and work on Step #12.
