Should be writing about something people care about

As I follow the stats on this Blog from time to time it is interesting to see what people come to read.

Some of it is downright funny. Other times it is serious. Some times it is a mixture of both.

I am completely surprised who comes to read at times. That indicator is the response back from readers all over the place – via email and facebook.

There has been a time when I wonder if anything matters anymore… whether anyone is listening at all. It is kind of like a teacher and what happens with their class.

I can remember times when I was one of those students – and nearly drove the teachers crazy. I think the Report Card said something about “day dreamer” – should learn to concentrate more… or something like that… I was concentrating when the report card came I am afraid.

The weather yesterday in our part of the country laid a complete flashback on me. I was looking up at our tree branches and the wind was blowing. It was cool but sunny… then poof I was back in Regina and then on the prairie near the city… a boy again.

Whoa! What a great flash back that was!

I think most writers need that kind of distracted mind to get to that edge that is needed. Problem is that the great writers have discipline as well… great discipline. I think the report card way back then also said something about that as well.

I have a long list of things that “must be done”.

I have another list of the “should be done” stuff.

Then I have a fun list of “I think this would be fun to do now” stuff.

The teacher was right.

But I was always, as the teacher stated, “a happy child” – now I am a loving every minute of it “senior”!

Gotta run to get ready for the morning fun stuff – then the Mall fun stuff with carving and tatting and new friends.

Way too much fun!
