Today’s Blog Post
(April Fools joke - Denmark 2001 - opening of the new Metro service)
My April Fools Day
Elizabeth May, of Canada’s Green Party, was elected Prime Minister last night. The other leaders all quit out of total disgust for the negative ads that were being broadcast daily – by each other. They just couldn’t take it any more. Elizabeth May had not been involved in all that stuff… so she took it – lock, stock and barrel.
It was then I woke up and realized that it was April 1, 2011… April Fools Day. My darn dreams were playing an April Fools Joke on me. How cruel can that be?
Imagine another four weeks and a few days of this election stuff. Yaaaaaah OoOOooOooiee. I am going crazy.
It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t the kind of person that hears and keeps everything in my mind. I can see all the images that I looked at yesterday – when they came on TV! BLAH!
April Fools!
A friend of mine that has a store at the Mall downtown is about to play a nasty joke on the Mall Manager. All the cars sitting outside, around the rear Mall entrance are getting a notice placed on their front window stating that if they do not move their cars… the car will be crushed. When the folk get the notice they are to call the Mall Manager. You can only guess how her telephone line will be buzzing.
Last year he called her up and in a very excited way told her that a piece the roof had falling in and people had been seriously hurt with the chunks of concrete that hit them. The security guards were there in a heart beat… and the Mall Manager was running as hard as she could in her high heals! April Fools!
Wikipedia states…Quote “April Fools' Day is celebrated all around the world on the April 1 of every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day where everyone plays all kinds of jokes and foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good humoured or funny jokes, hoaxes, and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.
Traditionally, in some countries such as New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, Australia, and South Africa, the jokes only last until noon, and someone who plays a trick after noon is called an "April Fool".
Elsewhere, such as in France, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Russia, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., the jokes last all day. The earliest recorded association between April 1 and foolishness can be found in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392). Many writers suggest that the restoration of the January 1 as New Year's Day in the 16th century was responsible for the creation of the holiday, but this theory does not explain earlier references.
End quote
So here is my advice… All promises made today from the Five Leaders of the various political parties are going to be an April Fools Joke. Because it is in Canada… they can do it all day without being considered a “fool”.
My advice is – don’t believe any of them, what they say or what they promise, or what they do. Keep clear of them. If they try to kiss your baby… run away… just don’t forget your baby. But come to think of it… that may be what some mothers hope to do when these folk are making Day Care Promises.
WHATTTTT NO WAYYYY… Ahhh! I just woke up typing. I thought I was dreaming this… I thought that I was stillllll in bed……!!!!!!
April Fools on myself….
Time for the Gym!
