Happy May 14th

I will not look at May 14th the same again. Today is a special day for our friends Marion and her husband Terry. I am guessing that our friends Brenda and Winston also are in a similar celebration day.

Now I have no way to know really… except for the slim evidence that I have picked up her and there.

Terry is not only brown by May 14th – he is baked. His skin is turning colour and he will soon need to have his Passport changed as he has become another colour completely.

His wife Marion is a master gardener or at least should be. She has an amazing garden that she works on works and finds solace in. There isn’t anything that she doesn’t know about gardening!

Winston always works outside. He is an outdoorsman to say the least. And his wife Brenda is right out there too. These two are a little less tanned than Terry… but love their outdoors. They live in a heavily shaded area and have a gazillion trees on their property. Leaving the road to drive into their place it becomes almost silent as nature engulfs you. It is a genuine retreat area.

Alida and I however live in an area where it is a little less secluded. The fences are not high and the neighbours are unpredictable with their schedules. The neighbour to our north is keeping a similar schedule that I am. The ones to the west… are young and stay up late… go to work early… The ones to our south are about the same age… but she goes to work very early… and his recouping now from surgery… and sits outside a lot.

Now how does this all link together… Terry, Marion, Winston, Brenda, Murray and Alida… flower gardens and backyards and seclusion, together with the outdoors?

Well today is World Naked Gardening Day – May 14th.

See I warned you… you and I both will not look at May the 14th the same again.

And as I draw my friends into my story… I have also placed them into their gardens celebrating this day.

No! No! I didn’t say they were nudists. We all go to the same church together. And in our church we don’t tolerate stuff like that. Sheesh!

I mean Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden… and so was King David when he danced before the Lord… so were a whole lot of other people when they did some Biblical things like procreating…. Ahem!  But in our church we are only naked beneath our clothing!!! Come one get your mind together!

But Terry, Marion, Winston, Brenda, Murray and Alida… have flower gardens and backyards and seclusion, together with the outdoors… and they are too old to run fast out of the yards when their neighbours come out to enjoy their backyards.

But Terry does have a dark tan….
