“The End” – is just the beginning of something new

As I sat in the theatre last evening I watched the movie develop its story. Interesting, it stated at the beginning that the story was based on a ‘True Story” – something about a real person.

It was entitled “Soul Surfer” and is about Bethany Hamilton, a young surfer that was extremely good at what she did. It is also about the horrors of a shark attack and the fact that she loses her left arm in that attack.

Nope, I haven’t told you the whole story. There is much more to it than that.

In fact there is so much more to it than the simple tickler that the Web Site offers that it makes you cry. Yes I had tears in my eyes at a couple of points in the show. It was acted so well and the story was so good that I cried. Thank goodness that it was dark.

Sheesh! I shouldn’t have told my guy friends that part. The not so sensitive ones will want to go see the “Fast Five”. (I saw that last week… and “Soul Surfer” is way better!)

The most powerful part for me was the last statement in the movie as all the credits rolled by… a large screen with a beautiful scene comes on… and there it is ‘ “The End”… that holds for few seconds longer… then another set of words replace it… “….is just the beginning of something new.”

WOW! What a statement! That is my story too. I completed a long and complicated journey… and thought it was over. But nope… not over… just beginning a new chapter.

I will think of this one for a long time! A new beginning! Am I ready?
