Chuck, Arnold and Sylvester all take Tylenol too – way to go guys!
Last night we laughed over and over again.  The old guys on the silver screen were … well… old… most of them at least. They were acting in “The Expendables”.  All the old kickem, knockem, sockem, killem dead heroes of the movies gone before were the new heroes in The Expendables.

Sylvester Stalone was the leader of the motley crew.  He was joined by Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Bruce Willis.

They are known as The Expendables – old school mercenaries.

The movie synopsis “The Expendables 2” states… quote…
Barney Ross, Lee Christmas, Yin Yang, Gunnar Jensen, Toll Road and Hale Caesar -- with newest members Billy the Kid and Maggie aboard -- are reunited when Mr. Church enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time - six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world.

Alida leaned over to me and said “I bet they all are sore in the morning too!”

That pretty much summed it up for me as well.  Rolling out of bed in the morning my body kind of has to adjust to the new realities – that it is old… and hurts in a lot of places.

To think that The Expendables can hold a gun at their side that is almost something that should be mounted on an armoured car… then blow away dozens and dozens of bad dudes… jump down long distances and through windows and not hurt the next day.  NO way!

After working on my snow blower I am hurting two days later!  And as I sat watching these old dudes kick the crap out of each of the younger bad guys… I agreed with my wife – they will hurt too.  In fact they have been all hurting since making the movie.

They really are not that old… except for Chuck Norris….

Sylvester Stalone is 66 years old – born July 6, 1946.
Jason Statham is 45 – born September 12 – Happy Birthday today Jason
Jet Li is 59 – born April 26, 1963
Dolph Lundgren is 55 – born November 3, 1957
Chuck Norris is 72 – born March 10, 1940
Terry Crews is 44 – born July 30, 1968
Arnold Schwarzenegger 65 – born July 30, 1947
Liam Hemsworth is 22 – born January 13, 1990
Jean-Claude Van Damme is 52 – born October 18, 1960
Bruce Willis is 57 – born March19, 1955

Alida said something else from her observations in the movie, “Did you notice they all have perfect teeth, and even after all that fighting no one lost a tooth. They all have porcelain veneers!”

That was when I laughed again… leave it to my wife to bring reality to what is totally unreal!

Towards the end of the movie Sylvester Stalone states the obvious about an old airplane that they have just been given, “That thing should be in a museum!” Arnold Schwarzenegger responds, “We all should be!”

Priceless comment.

Today when I woke up… my back hurt again… but I smiled as I thought of Chuck, Arnold and Sylvester – they likely are heading to the bathroom right about now too. They will open the medicine cabinet and take out the Tylenol too… pop two in and wait for it all to stop hurting,

Way to go guys… you were amazing last night… have a better day today… it will stop hurting after you move some more.
