You Win Some – You Lose Some – The Tough Love of the “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office”

If you are a regular reader of this Blog you will remember that way back in May 2012 – May 19, 2012 actually I solicited your help.  (see http://murraylincoln.blogspot.ca/2012/05/i-need-your-help-to-get-lots-of-like.html)

I asked you to click on a video that had been made of me to share some of the story of the “Misty Hollow” success story. The story of how Misty Hollow came into existence with the help of the Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation.

We had been notified that the Head Quarters of CFDC (who they are and where there are I do not know) was in the process of selecting a video that they would show at the Annual General Meeting that would be held soon.

This was to be done by clicking on “Like” in YouTube below the video.

In order for my friends to register their “Like” on the YouTube Web Site they needed to be registered with YouTube – then Log in to be able to click on the “Like”.

This all had to be done by May23 – just a few days after we were notified to get our “Like”s registered.

The total number of folk that looked in on the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaFY4HQEnQc was quite high compared to the “Like”.  But the “Like” registered for Misty Hollow and Murray Lincoln was completed at “63” – with a couple of hundred or more “View”.

As of right now the total Views has been 430.

I had a number of folk write to apologize that they did not and could not register for YouTube. They had no interest in doing so but wished me luck with the “contest”.

On May 23 the closing date the “Like” was at 63 – making http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaFY4HQEnQc the winner – theoretically.

One other video did get 18 “Like”s.  Their story and success was admirable but in all likelihood their friends either didn’t have computers or were not registered with YouTube.

The notable thing about this way of getting people’s votes was that you could not register a second “Like” – you were only allowed One “Like” Vote.

But if you kept looking at the video – each click on to it made the Views increase.  Potentially I could make my own View Number huge by clicking on to the number over and over again… then getting my friends to do the same.

That hardly seemed fair in my mind. And as clumsy as the YouTube Registration and Log in was – and as blocking as it was for many folks that do not go near YouTube – it seemed to be answer to set up “the Vote”.

Chris Oliver at www.CCOProductions.ca was the videographer that did such a great job on the movie that he made for the Northumberland CFDC.

Northumberland CFDC was solidly supporting what was happening around the Video that was made on Misty Hollow. Real support – the way that they offered it to me when I was unemployed and had no idea what to do for the future. “Misty Hollow” is a success story because of them.

Boom – the other shoe dropped today!

Chris contacted me today to tell me that “The Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office”… the people that made the strange rules to have Votes registered by YouTube, Log in and click on “Like”…. Changed the rules to the contest after it closed !!!

Yep – they decided that it wasn’t “Like” that they were looking for it was the “Total Views” – not necessarily on May 23 – the closing day – but sometime at a later date that they chose without letting anyone know.

NO kidding that has really happened!  This “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” actually pulled that off.

Does the word “Credibility” pop into your mind when looking at what these people did?

But if I say anything the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaFY4HQEnQc will disappear from site. I am sure of that.

I would like to say other words like “Bull Crap” in the more colloquial way – but the “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” would get angry and simply nuke me from all their success story lists that may be created or were created.

BUT the “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” cannot take my success away. It has happened without their help or any part of them supporting me.

The “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” are a political group to say the least – in my mind. Someone had to have made the decision before any voting ever happened. The “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” knew who they wanted to win.

But the silly game that came about with this “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” won’t happen again.

And I am recommending that any future candidate for a CFDC showing of your video by the “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” – simply tell them to, “Go away – I don’t need the hassle!”  There is a “Credibility issue” big time with this stuff.

I wish the “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office” the best. You likely have to justify who you are and what you do.  Good one… the interaction with you was fun for a while – I actually believed you.

Sheesh!  Too darn funny!

To my readers.. I would really like you to do One More Thing for me – and do it before they get smart and Nuke my video… click on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaFY4HQEnQc as many times as you can and shove the Views way over the top.

This Blog reaches about 400 people per day – and on a recent day it hit 1306 people supporting and reading.  The total pages read now is 142,734 and the visitors to the blog are 103,625 as of one minute ago.

Now I know the Video might drive you crazy after a bit… turn the sound down and let it run for a while… and do it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again….

Why - Just to let them know that you have seen the stupid video and that you have heard the stupid story about “Mysterious Group at the CFDC Head Office”

AND NO – I am not BITTER – I just know what Bull Crap looks like, smells like and feels like – don’t try to feed it to me!!! I have worked as a Cowboy in my younger years and know that you don’t eat Bull Crap!!!!
