Honey and Cinnamon

I take absolutely no credit for the following words. The only thing I did was copy/paste it into the Blog after finding the content.

This actually came to us by way of a Facebook friend who received it from someone else who got it from another person that was a cousin to a completely different set of friends somewhere in the world. You know how it is passed on.

So after reading it I am impressed enough to pass it on to you. But I take no responsibility for any aide or after effects that you or your thirty second cousin removed might get from doing one of these concoctions.

It is January 6, 2013… it has snowed buckets of white stuff again… I have to shovel and snow blow all over again – starting in a few minutes. So with all of that I thought that it may help you and me a little to read what Cinnamon and Honey can do for you.

Honey and Cinnamon

It is found that a mix of honey and Cinnamon cures ...most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also note honey as very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects which is also a plus.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder....who knew?

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol could be cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses, and it's delicious too!

UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also is said to clear stomach ulcers from its root.

GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS: Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS: Daily in the morning one half hour before
breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

One of My Rants about the Year of 2012

As I look back on the year that just passed I see many new things and yet some things that have never changed. It has been a very fast year with each month moving by much quicker than I would like.

Have you noticed that Leading Politicians don’t listen to anyone? They assure you when they are trying to get elected that they will be much better than the last politician that held their spot – yet they are less likely to listen at all.

Have you noticed that power goes to their heads? That is more than true in the case of a number of Mayors in the cities that they serve. Rob Ford is a good example for power hungry, untouchable, deity minded people. Once he had the job he became infallible in almost every area of his life, Mayor, Coach and Defender against horrible newspaper people that write what they think are true stories.

Mayor Rob Ford is not the only Mayor that is like this. We each have our own ‘Top City Dog’ that bully their way around the kennel – and the rest of the dogs better know it or else. Because they are so powerful they WILL GET THEIR WAY – no matter what happens. They kind of forgot that there will be an election someday.

In 2012 – have you noticed that guns kill people? Have you understood that guns are used more and more to kill people? It is much quicker and easier to do away with people that anger you. And after the idiot commits the horrific crime the good citizens fight over keeping their guns to protect themselves but they think that the guy that used the gun to kill whoever was deranged – they aren’t but he is.

Have you noticed the idiot world powers that MUST HAVE POWER at whatever the costs… and they consider themselves civilized?

Have you noticed that certain World Religions have nothing to do with God, respect of others or love? Have you noticed that rape is included in some World Religions as a good thing to do to control the population – as long as it is done in a spiritual way??? – in the name of their God!

Have you noticed that rich people fight like crazy to get richer? They try their best to make sure that the others that are not rich at all will suffer? Not that I am riding my hobby horse about ‘hockey’ but it happens even among the millionaire crowd . One has but another has more and demands way more than any person would ever need…

Have you noticed that 2012 could be called the Year of Greed?

Did you catch the fun of politics in Ontario? A Premier and his cohorts that demand, refuse, and confuse whoever they wish to… and when the anger has spilled into our schools in Ontario and they have made the teachers fighting mad… they now back off and say that they are going to repeal the Bill 115 that has caused such upset…

But did you notice that there is no Ontario legislative sitting because the Premiere is quitting politics and decided that everyone else should not do anything because he doesn’t want to…?

Maybe I am just a little on the outside and DO NOT UNDERSTAND – how does an elected group of politicians that brought in Bill 115 – repeal it – with no one meeting to talk about this? Like there are no elected officials coming together to represent the people’s will that elected them.

Have you noticed in Ontario that the Conservative and NDP politicians are smiling broadly because the Liberals are likely not going to be re-elected?

But it isn’t just the Provincial and Local Mayoral politicians that have acted out in dominant ways in Canada. Our Federal Political Leadership has shaken everyone and everything – and listens to no one. I can say that confidently in the number of areas that I interact with these folk.

Yep 2012 was an amazing political year that stunk to high heaven

It makes you almost want to get into Politics and try to get elected – oh boy!

But there are still a few in all of the stuff that we watch and hear about that really care. There are elected leaders that are real and do listen.

That is why I pray for Political Leaders – God will take care of it all.

NHL and NHLPA squabbles and I am nearly broke - sheesh

NHL and NHLPA squabbles and I am nearly broke - sheesh

For the past half hour I have been reading through the twists and turns of the National Hockey League(NHL) and the National Hockey League Player’s Association (NHLPA). And I have been trying to understand what is at stake for each party.

What I am sure of is the fact that they are not agreeing to what the other party is offering. The issues also change with each offer and counter offer – and still no one agrees with the other even though they have changed their stance.

From what I have read the average salary of an NHL hockey player is $2.4 Million. Well if I am right or wrong with that number I could care less – really. It is all that I could find – quote from The Star – “The difference in those two potential formats alone would cost the average player $120,000, based on an average yearly salary of $2.4 million and the gap between their projected pro-rated salaries. The combined loss of 60 extra events in buildings around the league would be even more for owners.” (http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/nhl/article/1310147--nhl-lockout-players-set-for-second-vote-on-dissolving-union-source-says )

So on one side is a very elite group of young and sometimes a little older men at 30+ that are Millionaires. On the other side there are the owners of the teams that these Millionaires play on. And these teams are owned by Mega Millionaires or maybe better said Billionaires that want even more from their investments in these Millionaire Players.

And if I understand it correctly from the reporters that have tried to clear up what is happening… there will only be 48 games in the NHL mini season if they go back to work playing hockey by January 11, 2013… which is 7 days from now.

To top it off the NHLPA is about to wipe out their own union and all that it means. And if that happens the individual players will begin a long and serious run of lawsuits against the Billionaire Owners for failing to hold their part of the bargain/agreement when the super star hockey player signed up with the billionaire.

Lawyers will be smiling from lawsuit to lawsuit getting an average of 50% of what each lawsuit is settled for…

But who needs to play hockey if you can settle court case that will give you $20 - $40 Million now – even if you have to give the lawyer some of it!!!?

Now as of yesterday’s reports, the NHL (the Billionaire group/employers) are going to court – or have gone to court to prevent the NHLPA from disbanding the Union – for simple fear that the Lawsuits that will be coming their way will be so huge that they could be broke and out of business if this happens.

In what other business do you find the Employer demanding that the Union not be allowed to be pulled apart or disbanded?

This is the strangest thing that could possibly happen.

The arguments are over $60 Million here - $75 Million there – a billion there a gazillion here.

But whose money is it anyway?

It is hard earned money that the local fan has made at his shaky job in the shaky economy of the USA and Canada. It is speculated money that will possibly be spent on a game that isn’t happening. It is real money that may not be in the pockets of real people – that may never return to another hockey game ever.

I am writing this on January 4, 2013. It is not prophetic in anyway. It is simply that I no longer care about hockey or the NHL. In fact from the start of this disagreement between two very rich people I didn’t like the NHL – or the people that run it. It is a TOTAL TURN OFF.

For 111 days now I have not had to change the channel on my TV to avoid the NHL games. I have felt sorry for some of the young people that have placed so much hope and effort into their future of playing hockey – to the avoidance of a University Education and a better opportunity of employment outside of the hockey world.

Do I hate hockey? Nope – not at all. My grandsons play hockey and I go whenever I can to watch the most amazing young men in the world fly across the ice. These young fellows are real good… and I love what they do.

But the difference is THEY PAY to Play… they are not PAID TO PLAY.

I think that the NHL has lost the fan base in this economy and in this world of entertainment mass market. There is way more to do and see beside NHL.

I predict that the NHL is dying… or maybe even dead as I write these words.

Ooops I am prophesying!

I am a retired Minister. My annual income is just around $30,000 from what I remember from last year’s income tax statements.

My pension is frozen and for the third year I have not been given so much as ONE CENT raise by the Pension Fund people at our church’s head office. There is no money being made now, no investments of that Pension Money is producing anything at all.

The letter that I received from the head office of our church used words like “solvency” and I think that is closely related to “insolvency” which is closely related to “bankruptcy” talk.

It could come to a time when I will have two real choices DEATH or Live on the Streets. Food Banks could be my next source of food stuff.

And the NHL and NHLPA can’t get their act together. And somehow I just don’t care – at all!

Clara Ann Fowler

Clara Ann Fowler was born in 1927 to a dirt poor family that lived in rural areas of the USA. Actually it was either, Claremore, OK or Muskogee, Ok. Her daddy was a railroad man while mother and other sisters picked cotton. Cotton picking was done by poor folks.

When she was 18 she was singing on KTUL radio station in Tulsa, OK as part of a 15 minute show sponsored by the Page Milk Company. As the singer on this live show she was dubbed “Patti Page”. As the story goes Jack Rael a band manager and saxophone player heard the radio program, contacted the station making enquiries about who the singer was. He quit his job as band manager and became Clara Fowler’s manager. Clara left the radio station work and the 15 minute job with the Page Milk Company. When she walked out that day and headed into her future she took the name “Patti Page” with her.

The rest is history. She became ‘The singin rage – Miss Patti Page’ selling over 100 million records in her career as a very famous recording artist in the USA.

On February 9, 2013 she was planning to be in Los Angeles where she will receive a life time achievement award from The Recording Academy.

But on January 1^st 2013, Clara Ann Fowler, Miss Patti Page, passed away at age 85.

I don’t know why it made me stop and think deeply of her presence in my life. Maybe it was her style and her many songs that were woven into much of my early radio listening. Maybe it was the words of her songs and the ones that she chose to weave into the fabric of our lives.

Maybe it is the fact that my parent’s age is disappearing at an alarming rate now. My Mom is only seven years older than Clara – Patti Page.

So today I draw your attention to Patti Page and salute a great lady of music – and an early part of my life.

The Playboy gets married again – holy mackerel!

How old should you be when you get married? That was a question I asked myself over 50 years ago – long before I started dating my wife. It is a question I now ask myself again at 68 years old (– not that I am planning to marry again!).

But the question popped up again in the back of my mind when I read the latest news of Mr. Hugh Hefner who is now 86 years old and newly married to a 26 year old.

Yep – you read that right. Hugh baby was married on December 31^st. 2012 to Crystal Harris who is 26 (photo above). They had planned to marry two years ago in 2011 but she ran away. Thus the news announcement declares that he married his ‘runaway bride’.

I know. I know you are shaking your head too. Hugh was 60 years old when she was born. And good old Hugh waited all that time for her to get ‘big enough’ so he could marry. In the meantime good old Hugh added a few more years to his life and will soon reach 90.

I don’t mean to be a nosy old so and so when I discuss this marriage between two people that ‘love’ each other… but it just seems strange to me. Really strange!

But it is Hollywood style of publicity and way of doing this stuff. A divorce may be planned as well down the road – to gain even more publicity… or may happen. I cannot see a 26 year old woman being able to hang in there with a miserable old fart that will cut her out of his will in a heartbeat.

The reality television series The Girls Next Door depicted the lives of Madison, Wilkinson and Marquardt at the Playboy Mansion. In October 2008, all three girls made the choice to leave the mansion. Hefner was quick to rebound and soon began dating his new "Number One" girlfriend, Crystal Harris, along with 20-year-old identical twin models Kristina and Karissa Shannon. Happy life? Not so much… take time to read the original Wikipedia post – then click on the links to people that Hugh was involved with. Wow!

Admittedly there was a time when that lifestyle was very attractive to young men. Now the young men are old men like me. We are settled in our lives and love what we have.

Poor ‘Hef’ is maybe… finally settled… kind of with a 26 year old bombshell.

I wonder when it is all said and done… who will be happy with what they have?

I begin 2013 with greater happiness than I have ever known. I do feel sorry for Hugh that it has taken this long for the poor old guy to finally get happy… but I wonder how long it will last.

There has just gotta be a TV series coming up about this story – there has got to be!
